Daikin sales base for Ireland
(10/11/2006)
Daikin creates permanent establishment in Ireland in order to meet the increasing demand for air conditioning.
Amid increasing demand for Daikin products and services in Ireland, Daikin Europe NV has decided to go ahead with the creation of a permanent establishment in Ireland. Effective as of 01/07/2006, it will enable Daikin to increase response times, service levels and the scope of its activities in support of its current and future local partners.
The Celtic Tiger
For centuries Ireland was a rural backwater with almost no industrial base. However, in the space of just a few decades, the country has been transformed into one of the world's most successful high-tech economies, acquiring in the process a new nickname: the Celtic Tiger. In the past 10 years, industrial development has concentrated on four sectors: information and communications technologies, pharmaceuticals, the international financial services industry, and, most recently, the international service industry, providing customer service and support.
The country is home to major operations for chipmaker Intel, leading computer makers Dell, IBM, and Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft, the world's largest software company.
Booming building sector
Ireland is experiencing a building boom and increasing demand for Daikin air conditioning products and services. Especially VRV is rapidly gaining popularity for large projects as an efficient and low-maintenance alternative to traditional air conditioning technologies. Daikin believes that this market will continue to grow significantly.
In addition, given the burgeoning construction of hotels, offices, shops and other buildings in big cities as well as the massive urban development projects underway, demand for commercial air conditioners – one of Daikin’s strengths – is also expected to grow. Daikin believes that the Irish air conditioning market will continue to experience significant growth over the next few years.
Full range of services
The new sales office in Ireland will support the existing dealer network and facilitate its extension to other areas. The full Daikin product portfolio will be supported. This includes new developments, unique in the market, which will strengthen the position of its current partners and offer unrivalled opportunities for potential new partners. Initially, the office will focus on communication (product & market), consulting sales, and technical support and training.
